Food grains such as ragi, rice, jowar, urad dal, semolina are some essentials. Palm jaggery is also a primary ingredient in cuisines. Traditionally, meals are catered on a banana leaf.

Visit Bellary fort, Idukki temple and Koppal fort and take overnight bus to Mumbai from Koppal.
Badami You need to add a couple of days for badami sightseeing which include Badami caves, fort and museum &nbsp Pattadakal, Aihole You need two more days to visit these places. Aihole has fort and many other other ruins and archeological monuments. Pattadakal has historical monuments which is a world heritage site. &nbsp Bijapur This was the capital of Adil Shahi emperor. The Gol Ghumat is a very famous tourist site. For Bijapur you need 2 days to visit all the places.
Weather in this region of Karnataka is hot and dry. Summers at Hampi could be harsh. Monsoons, Winters are the best seasons to visit.   Religion is prominently Hindu but there are hubs of Muslim culture at historical places. At Tourist places people can speak Hindi and English other than Kannada. South Indian food is easily available at all these places.
