Kerala is the southern coastal state in India. To its west lies the Arabian sea and to its east lies the Western Ghats. Anamudi 8842 feet is the highest mountain. The high mountain region has tea and coffee plantations like Munnar. Elephant is common sight at Munnar reservoir. With highest literacy rate Kerala is leading example to the Nation to look forward. Palaghat is famous gap in the western ghats where the height of the mountains is very less. It has famous pass that connects Kerala with Tamilnadu. People of Palaghat would therefore speak Malayalam and Tamil both fluently. 

 

Since ages Kerala has been known for its spice trade. Even today you go to Kochi you will find traders from various parts of India settled here. The spice gardens, palm trees thick vegetation, backwaters and water bodies make it a unique beautiful place. Festivals of Vishu and Onam which also includes Elephant parades in temples are of tourist attractions. Kathakali is famous dance form of Kerala. 

 

Typical Kearla itinerary will include Kochi, Munnar, Tekady, Alappy. Koalam, Verkala are famous beaches near capital of Thiruvananthapuram. Padmanabhsamy temple is the richest temple in the region.

Day 1

Kochi On arrival at Kochi airport / Ernakulam Railway station transfer to hotel in Kochi. You can go for half day sightseeing of Kochi post lunch. Visit the famous Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, St.Francis church, Chinese fishing nets and Indo-Portuguese Museum. Overnight stay in Hotel.

Day 2

Kochi - Munnar Checkout from Kochi hotel after breakfast and proceed to Munnar (140 Kms / 04 Hrs). Enjoy the scenic ride. Arrive at Munnar and check in to Hotel. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Hotel at Munnar.

Day 3

Munnar After breakfast we take you for a full day sightseeing trip of Munnar which is a nature lover's paradise with endless tea gardens lakes on western ghat hills; basically it is a tea town. covering Mattupetty Lake & Dam, Echo Point, Kundale Lake, Blossom Garden, Rajamalai offering a spectacular view, Eravikulam Wildlife sanctuary which is home of Nilgiri Tahr, considering the ecological faunal, floral, geo- morphological and zoological significant & Tea Plantation. Later return to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 4

Munnar - Periyar Check out from Hotel after breakfast and move to Thekkady (120 kms / 4 Hrs). Check into Hotel at Thekkady. After refreshing go for a spice plantation Tour to see crops of cardamom cinnamon, pepper, coffee, tea estate (Optional) & later for boating in the Periyar lake- its centre piece of Periyar Wildlife sanctuary also Periyar Tiger reserve, man made lake of the height of 2000 ft, enjoying view the wildlife at the Periyar tiger reserve (Optional). Later return to the hotel for overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 5

Periyar - Kumarakom After breakfast checks out from Hotel and we drive down to Kumarakom (145 Kms / 4 Hrs). On arrival at Kumarakom visit the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary and later check in at a hotel. Evening go for Sunset cruise (optional) or enjoy the beauty of backwater with lovely views all around by just relaxing near Vembanad Lake and overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 6

Houseboat Morning at leisure at resort, 1230 hrs check in at houseboat. Rest of the day at leisure on the Houseboat. Sit back and relax while the boat cruises through the narrow serene backwater canals of Kumarakom & Alleppey. Lunch, Evening Tea/Coffee with snacks, dinner and Overnight stay on Houseboat.

Day 7

Houseboat - Kovalam In the morning you have leisure time on Houseboat. Later boat arrives at Alleppey. Check out from houseboat after breakfast and we transfer you to Kovalam (190 Kms / 4.5 Hrs). On arrival at Kovalam check into Hotel. Kovalam is considered as the Paradise of the South. It consists of three adjacent crescent beaches and also picture perfect tropical beaches. Rest of the day at leisure on the beach at Kovalam. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 8

Kovalam - Thiruvananthapuram - Kovalam After breakfast we take you for a day sightseeing of Thiruvananthapuram. Visit Napier Museum, Kuthiramalika Museum, Sri Padmanabha Temple. Evening free time at leisure. Overnight stay at Hotel, Kovalam.

Day 9

Kovalam - Kanyakumari After breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Kanyakumari (100 KM/ 3 hrs). Check in at a hotel in Kanyakumari. Visit Gandhi Memorial, Vivekananda Rock, Devikanya temple. Experience Sunset from the southern tip of India. You can observe different colours of waters of Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal and Indian ocean at Kanyakumari which tip of Indian Peninsula. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

Day 10

Checkout from hotel and transfer to Thiruvananthapuram airport or railway station.

Weather Kerala has tropical weather. Monsoon starts in May and ends upto September. If you come to Kearala during monsoon it is lush green everywhere with waterfalls and fresh green tea plantation slopes. Roads winding on the hills with gushing waters flowing in the rivers in the valley.   Religion / Culture Onam is a famous festival of kerala celebrated in August / September. Every temple and house in Kerala is celebrating it. There are elephant processions very famous among tourists during Onam.   Winter is another season to visit Kerala. The Ayurvedic massage and other therapy centers have five star facilities to heal and pamper you. Many domestic and foreign tourists visit Kerala specially for Ayurveda panchakarma treatments.
